Stop or breathe

in November 25, 2024

This man, 40 years old, came in for a massage. He told me he was able to control ejaculation fairly easily. As always, I wanted to understand how he did it.

As we talked, I realized he was using the most traditional, simple method: stop, withdraw, wait until things calm down, and start again.

Over my years working with men, this is, in fact, the approach many choose. It doesn't take much effort, just controlling the movement at the right moment.

But what about the partner's side of things? Have you thought about that? For many women, this constant stopping and starting takes all the pleasure out of the moment and can be quite frustrating.

There's a more effective approach, one that, with practice, becomes increasingly natural: breath control. It takes time to master, but if the goal is really to bring pleasure to your partner without constant interruptions, it's by far the smarter choice.

It can be practiced both during sex and during individual practice sessions. Learning to control the body through breathing brings benefits that go well beyond sexual health, it also strengthens the body on a muscular level.

One of the most useful exercises is learning to contract and release the pelvic floor. This group of muscles plays a key role in a long, healthy sex life.

Mastering this technique makes it possible to bring more satisfaction to your partner, and to feel a lot more pleasure yourself too.
