This man, in his 60s, booked his appointment more than a week in advance, to make sure he'd secure a slot. A foreign resident with a home in Portugal, he had come across my page by chance, liked what he saw, and there he was to try it out.
Curious to meet me in person, he mentioned that my face seemed to glow, that just being in my presence, he already felt the effects of that energy.
After a brief conversation, to break the ice, as I like to think of that first moment, we began the massage.
Even though it was a long session, he ended up with a slightly stuffy nose, a common side effect of lying face down for a while. The same often happens with the neck, we tend to keep it turned to one side longer than the other, and when it's time to switch, there's a crack and the head resists turning.
Once he turned onto his back, both his neck and his nose were grateful, and breathing came easily again.
At the end, I asked if he wanted to shower, and he said he wasn't even sure, he felt so relaxed, so light, almost as if he were floating, unable to think about anything else.
