Visit to Marrakech - Day 4

in February 1, 2026

For the last day, we chose Hammam. I followed a tip from the tour guide, and the price was quite reasonable compared to the Hammam's in the Souk. This one was in the new Marrakech. We took a taxi, but it is in walking distance. Taxis are everywhere, and they ask, "Do you need a ride?" It's easy to get one.

When we left the Medina, we saw a clean city, tall buildings, palm trees, wide streets, everything big and good-looking. Although very empty compared to the Medina. Few cars on those avenues and few people in those large shops. In the Hammam, we had the famous bath with a rubber exfoliating glove, lying on a stone. We were thoroughly scrubbed by a young woman who probably wasn't even 18 yet, looking exhausted, even though it was 10 am.

The massage was in another room, where they served us tea, and we waited for more than 30 minutes. Then the masseuses came, and the massage was quick. Regarding the service, despite the friendliness of the people, it wasn't to our liking.

Afterwards, we walked along the main avenues, visited some shops, but the style here was like in Portugal.

Hammam

Then we went to the Medina, crossed the city wall, and again the noise, the people, and the smells. It's a shock, it feels like we've entered another reality, but it's all in the same city.

We took one last stroll through the Souks, did some last shopping and returned to the hotel. We waited for the car to arrive to take us to the airport, with one of the hotel staff member accompanying us to it. It was a lovely stay at that hotel. Safe, friendly and clean.

Upon arriving at the airport, without Dirhams to exchange, we went to check-in, arriving 3 hours early. The woman who checked us in was very friendly, and everything went well.

We walked around the airport, saw the shops, and finally sat down. When boarding opened, the woman who had checked us in was in one of the lines. Upon seeing us, she smiled and wished us a safe trip home. That simple smile seemed to make the journey lighter and faster, with the certainty that everything would be alright.

Last day
There were no buses here to take us to the plane, so we got out and walked to the plane. The trip was quick and thankfully good.

It was great to be back home!
